“ELF DAY 5: ENRICHing Pedagogical Issues and Concerns in ELF Research” organized by Boğaziçi University, the Turkish partner of the Erasmus+ project “ENRICH (English as a Lingua Franca practices for inclusive multilingual classrooms)” was successfully held online on February 27, 2021. The event dedicated to the ENRICH project attracted a great number of participants around the globe. Out of 745 registered participants, over 400 attended the event although this number changed over the course of the day. Also, some people joined the event via live streaming on YouTube.

Following the opening talks by Prof. Yasemin Bayyurt and Nicos Sifakis, the event continued with the presentations of the ENRICH project partners, respectively the Rome Tre University (Italy), the University of Lisbon (Portugal), The Hellenic Open University (Greece), and the Boğaziçi University (Turkey), focusing on some part of the ENRICH CPD data in their own local contexts. Furthermore, the event hosted three plenary panel talks delivered by leading scholars in the field of ELF, respectively Prof. Kurt Kohn (University of Tübingen), Prof. Martin Dewey (King’s College London) and Prof. Nicos Sifakis (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). All the plenary panelists attracted a great deal of attention of the audience through their enlightening and interesting presentations, thus reflected in the fruitful panel discussion in the end.


All in all, it was a great honor to host such an international community of scholars, researchers, teachers, and students on ELF Day 5. It was ENRICHing in all its aspects.
