The University of Lisbon is one of the six organizations participating in the ENRICH Project. Comprising the School of Arts and Humanities and the Institute of Education, it has a long tradition in training teachers within various fields, especially regarding teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Teaching, research, science, technology and innovation are the core business of the University of Lisbon, which aims to enhance its position as a “reference university” not only at a nation-wide level but also across Europe. Moreover, ULisboa has the research center ULICES (The University Lisbon Centre for English Studies). ULICES comprises several research groups, including the ‘Linguistics: Language, Culture and Society’ research group, which, as its title suggests, focuses on areas particularly relevant to ENRICH.
Lili Cavalheiro, lead ENRICH Partner, has a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon, where she also teaches and is a researcher at ULICES – University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies. Her research interests include: English as a lingua franca, English Language Teaching, Teacher education, Materials development and Intercultural communication.
