International Conference "Multilingual Theories and Practices"

Nicos Sifakis, from the Hellenic Open University, gave a plenary presentation entitled "Global English as an Opportunity for Multilingual Education: A Way Forward" at the International Conference "Multilingual Theories and Practices" (MTP2019) that took place on 9-10 May 2019 at the Ionian University, in Corfu, Greece. The presentation focused on the theoretical background of ENRICH as regards Global English, English as a Lingua Franca and multilingualism, with particular reference to the competences that teachers need to develop to cater for the needs of multilingual classes. Emphasis was placed on the development of the ENRICH CPD course and on raising the audience's interest in participating in it.
